Nonno Joe breezed on Friday working 5 furlongs on the dirt in 1:00.70 at Belmont Park Training Track. That work was the bullet of 19 at the distance.
We spoke with trainer Rudy Rodriguez after the breeze. He said, "He breezed very nicely this morning. He's coming along very well. I worked him in company and he worked well. I'm pointing him to a race going long on the grass on October 25."
Rudy will train Nonno Joe to the $50,000 Maiden Claiming race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on October 25.

We spoke with trainer Rudy Rodriguez after the breeze. He said, "He breezed well this morning. I worked him in company with an older horse named Khali Magic and they both went well. He'll need a few more before he's ready but he's coming right along."
