Inevtabl Conection breezed on Saturday working 4 furlongs on the dirt in 49.40 at Delaware Park. That work was 21 of 62 at the distance.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the breeze. He said, "He breezed very nicely this morning. I'm considering running him next at Aqueduct on September 15."
Steve will keep Inevtabl Conection fresh as he prepares him for his next race which could be the Starter Allowance going 6 furlongs at Aqueduct on September 15.
Inevtabl Conection ran a very impressive second on Thursday at Saratoga pressing a strong pace only to get caught by the 3-2 eventual winner. Breaking from post 8 (program number 1A) Inevtabl Conection moved in early while going to the front, lost the advantage at the eleven-sixteenths, then tracked the new leader, was urged two-to-three-wide on the turn, took the lead inside the five-sixteenths, battled inside of the winner under a drive into the final furlong, then lost the advantage and was outfinished while well clear for the place.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, “This horse took a huge step forward today facing some serious competition and going longer than I felt he could go. This horse always seemed to be a 5 to 5 1/2 furlong horse. Seemingly, the shorter the better. To see him carry his distance beyond 6 furlongs is very nice.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “This horse showed me something today. I always felt he is talented. But I thought today might have been a tough race. To see him almost win and be 5 lengths ahead of the next horse…I’m elated. This was a very exciting race at Saratoga for the partners. Can’t wait to see him run next.”
Inevtabl Conection earned $14,000 for Thursday’s second place finish.
We’ll see how Inevtabl Conection comes out of the race and Steve will point him accordingly.
