SainthoodForBrian ran a good third on Wednesday at Delaware Park rallying well in the later stages of the race to get up for show money. Breaking from post 1 SainthoodForBrian was a bit restless in the gate, trailed early, switched out and advanced between runners four-wide early on the turn, moved out five-to-six wide late on that bend, and evened out in the drive.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, “He’s really developing into a nice horse for us. He can compete with other talented horses and she’s sound. I like this horse quite a bit.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “If he could only learn to get into the race a little quicker, he’d be a very serious force. As it is he has a very strong rally. He’s a nice horse and always gives the partners an honest effort.”
SainthoodForBrian earned $3,520 for Wednesday’s third place finish.
We’ll see how SainthoodForBrian comes out of the race and Steve will point him accordingly.
