Mammoth ran a good third on Thursday at Presque Isle Downs spotting the field some ground then closing strong to get up for show. Breaking from the rail Mammoth raced mid pack, saved ground on the two path through the turn, bid three wide into the lane, and closed well
for the show.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, “He ran well. Although he needs longer and he needs $7500.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “He put in a good effort but this horse is not 5 1/2 furlong material. He needs longer.”
Mammoth earned $1,500 for Thursday’s third place finish.
We'll see how Mammoth comes out of the race and we’ll point her accordingly.
