Ecliptical Jack (Claiming Partnership) ran to a nice third place finish at Parx on Sunday chasing a runaway winner that drew off and won by almost 8 lengths. Ecliptical Jack chased the top three and responded well from the outside in the drive.

We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, “He ran a very nice race. Despite it being a short race he charged up nicely in the stretch and only missed 2nd by a neck.”

We also spoke with jockey Jorge Vargas after the race and Jorge said, “The front three horses ran away from us and that separation allowed Ecliptical Jack to get sprayed with the kickback. He didn’t like it and backed out a bit. Knowing that I knew I had to swing him wide in the stretch to keep him out of the kickback and he responded full of run. He ran very well today.”

We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “No one was going to catch the winner today. Despite our horse getting a slightly uncomfortable trip he only missed 2nd by a neck. With the Pennsylvania-bred bonus the partners pickup over $7000. It’s a great program.”

Ecliptical Jack earned $7,100 for Sundays’ third place finish.

Steve will see how Ecliptical Jack comes out of the race and he’ll point him accordingly.
