Foggy Mountain Cat is entered to run in Thursday’s 7th race at Penn National which is a Maiden $15,000 Claiming race going 1 mile for 4-year-olds and up. He drew post position 6 and jockey Clinton Potts is named to ride. Potts is currently ranked 9th in the Penn National jockey standings with 2 wins and a 13% winning percentage.

Foggy Mountain Cat is currently the 2-1 Daily Racing Form morning line favorite in the race. He’s the DRF Consensus selection to win the race and tied for the best bet of the day. All three DRF handicappers selected him to win the race.

The purse for this race is $17,000.

First race post time is 6:00 PM and Foggy Mountain Cat's race is Race 7 which is scheduled to go off at 8:43 PM. As always we’ll be at the Hibiscus table in the clubhouse restaurant. Everyone is invited to join us at Penn National for a fun evening of racing.

January 10

Foggy Mountain Cat breezed on Tuesday working 4 furlongs in 51.04 over the Belmont Park training track. That work was 29th best out of 54 at the distance.

We spoke trainer Rick Violette after the breeze and Rick said, “He put in a good breeze this morning. He’s on track for the Maiden race at Penn National next Wednesday.”

Rick will train Foggy Mountain Cat up to his next race which we expect to be the Maiden $15,000 Claiming race going 1 mile at Penn National on January 18th.
