True Heiress ran a very strong second on Friday at Gulfstream Park facing a field of 8 horses and posting a career high Beyer Speed Figure of 72 in the race. True Heiress raced in range being rated through early stages, moved through the turn in the two-path, then shifted wider for the drive, gathered momentum, finished strongly and was gaining on the winner in the end.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race. Steve said, “The freshening did this filly a world of good. She came back looking like a new horse.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “That was a very impressive effort by this filly. She almost got up for all the marbles. It was a very exciting race for the partners.”
True Heiress earned $4,590 for Friday’s second place finish.
Steve will see how True Heiress comes out of the race and we’ll point her accordingly.
