True Heiress is entered to run in Monday’s 1st race at Gulfstream Park which is a $16,000 Claiming N3L race going 5 furlongs on the turf for fillies and mares 4 years-old and up which have never won 3 races. She drew post position 9 and leading jockey Jose Ortiz is named to ride. Ortiz is currently ranked 2nd in the Gulfstream Park jockey standings with 41 wins and a 23% winning percentage.

True Heiress is currently the 7-2 Daily Racing Form morning line second choice in the race. Two DRF handicappers select her as their second choice in the race.

The purse for this race is $24,000.

First race post time is 12:00 PM and True Heiress' race is Race 1. Everyone is invited to join our partners at Gulfstream Park for a fun day of racing.

January 3

True Heiress ran a solid third on Thursday at Gulfstream Park facing a full field of 12 horses and posting a career second best Beyer Speed Figure of 63 in the race. True Heiress had aim off the leading trio two, then three wide on the turn, loomed outside Boranda through the furlong grounds, and was outfinished between rivals.

We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race. Steve said, “At the top of the stretch I thought we had that one. She ran very well.”

We also spoke with jockey Tyler Gaffalione after the race. He said, “I blame myself for that one. I rode her too confidently down the stretch and it wound up costing us. We should have done better.”

We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “Coming out of the turn I thought we had dead aim. After hearing Tyler’s account it makes sense. Our regular rider, Edgard Zayas, is out with an injury and it was Tyler’s first time riding the horse so it would be unfair to blame him. It was very exciting and the partners pick up another check. We’ll come back and do it again next time.”

True Heiress earned $2,190 for Thursday’s third place finish.

Steve will see how True Heiress comes out of the race and we’ll point her accordingly.
