Simuladora ran a very strong third at Gulfstream Park on Thursday contesting the early pace and missing the win by a neck. Simuladora set a pressured pace in opening stages then began to duel for lead. She continued to battle in a late drive but was outkicked while all out late.
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race and Steve said, “She put in a great effort today. I’m very pleased.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “That’s more like the performance we’re looking for with this horse. She ran big. Ideally we’d like to see this horse go around two turns. It was a very exciting race for the partners. We’ll bank the third place money and try again next time.”
Simuladora earned $2,390 for Thursday’s third place finish.
We’ll see how Simuladora comes out of the race and we’ll point her accordingly.
Simuladora is entered to run in Thursday’s 5th race at Gulfstream Park which is a $12,500 Claiming race going 7 furlongs for 3-year-old fillies. She drew post position 4 and leading jockey Irad Ortiz is named to ride. Ortiz is currently ranked 2nd in the Gulfstream Park jockey standings with 97 wins and an 24% winning percentage.
Simuladora is currently 4-1 in the Daily Racing Form morning line.
The purse for this race is $22,000.
First race post time is 12:35 PM and Simuladora's race is Race 5 which is scheduled to go off at 2:35 PM. As always there will be Hibiscus table in the clubhouse restaurant. Everyone is invited to join our partners at Gulfstream Park for a fun day of racing.
