E J’s Revenge ran a good second at Parx on Saturday ultimately yielding to the 9-5 favorite but missing by less than a length. E J’s Revenge engaged for the lead along the inside nearing the far turn, drew clear, then was not good enough in the drive to withstand the winner
We spoke with trainer Steve Klesaris after the race. Steve said, “We’ve hooked a hot horse two races in a row. He ran a very big race today. He’ll get through very soon.”
We also spoke with Hibiscus Stables CEO Mike Oliveto after the race. Mike said, “It would have been nice to have won this race but second place money is good. It was 7 lengths back to the next horse so the winner and we were dominant. Overall it was a good day for the partners and the horse.”
E J’s Revenge earned $5,600 for Saturday’s second place finish.
We’ll see how E J’s Revenge comes out of the race and we’ll point him accordingly.
